We make all our lovely things on vintage Singer sewing machines in our workshop in Cornwall. We can make to order and ship worldwide. Just message us and we’ll be glad to help 🙂

We have been creating gorgeous handmade clothing for your little people from our Cornish workshop since 2017. Our clothing is created using an eclectic mix of vintage and modern sewing machines and we carefully select fabulous prints for our small batch runs. Once we use our meterage of a particular print, we don’t repeat it, making your chosen outfit one of only around 8-10 in existence. Our garments are not mass produced and are all individually cut and hand made in our workrooms in Cornwall and only available direct from us. We use beautiful soft cottons and jersey fabrics and make everything with great attention to detail: hand sewn hems on our cotton dresses, French seams, generous sizing and vintage styling. We want our garments to last and be passed down through the family.

Currently our sizes range from newborn up to age 6. If you see a fabric you like in a size we don’t offer, message us and we’ll see what we can do.  We love vintage trims and buttons and use them whenever we can, our cupboards are full of vintage loveliness!

We are very particular about quality and the longevity of our garments and each one is cut by hand and only made to order, then it has to get past the boss! You may have a wait of up to 2 weeks for your chosen item, please bear this in mind when you place an order. Data sources reveal that over 30% of clothing produced is never worn and this is why we only make to order and why you have to wait a little bit longer.

We are working on a new eco-friendly range of breast pads, nappy covers and reusable wipes to go with our already best-selling range of washable make up remover wipes. Jill, the owner, and head tea-lady, has an extensive background in the design and production of women’s, baby and kids wear and has travelled the world to see and check production in factories. Her focus in the last few years of her commercial career was on the construction and quality of garments and this is still the focus for Made by the Sea Cornwall. When she’s not making tea and plying us with cake, she’s got garments inside out on the cutting table, inspecting for any faults!

We hope you like our designs and would love to see photos of your little people wearing them. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram and pop your photos on there. We often do sneak previews of new things on both sites and have little giveaways.
